The Founder
Jemary Sebastian
Founder & President, Wise Cleaner Philippines
Wise Cleaner did not begin as a business. It started as a simple way to save money at home — and what began in a borrowed pot during the 2020 pandemic has since helped Filipinos start a livelihood of their own.
The first batches.
During the pandemic, Jemary Sebastian was looking for ways to cut daily expenses. Like many families at the time, every peso mattered. She also saw how her mother-in-law was trying to stretch the household budget, making sure everything was enough despite rising costs.
Jem wanted to help in a practical way. Instead of continuing to buy expensive dishwashing liquid, she tried making her own at home. What surprised her the most was how possible it actually was.
Wise Cleaner’s homemade cleaning products — from kitchen batches to the community.
The first batches were not perfect. There were spills, wrong measurements, and products that did not foam or clean the way she expected. But each failed attempt taught her something new. She kept adjusting the formula, reading about ingredients, and testing over and over until the results started to improve.
Why she kept going.
There were many moments when she felt like giving up. The process was tiring, and the results were not always encouraging. But she reminded herself why she started — to help her family save and eventually to help others do the same.
“The products people use every single day — dishwashing liquid, detergent, fabric conditioner — are things that never stop being needed.”
If she could learn how to make them well and affordably, it would matter not just for her family, but for many others too.
Building a community.
The Wise Cleaner Community — Making a difference in communities across the Philippines.
What began as a small household solution slowly turned into something bigger. Jem realized that everyday products like soap, detergent, and fabric conditioner are not just necessities — they are also opportunities. If people could learn to make these products themselves, they could save money and even earn from it.
From a few bottles shared with neighbors, Wise Cleaner grew into a community built around a simple idea: if something is used every day, it can also create income every day. Today, Wise Cleaner has sold millions of DIY cleaning kits and helped thousands of Filipinos — mothers, students, and first-time entrepreneurs — start their own cleaning products business.
“That small discovery stayed with her. And from it, Wise Cleaner was born.”
“Hindi lang produkto, kundi pati kaalaman.”
